Obituary for Clare Therese Radeztsky (Berchem)

Radeztsky, Clare Therese (Berchem), Age 84 of Bloomington, died October 14 after a short illness. Preceded in death by her son, Michael. Survived by husband, Del; son Jim; daughters, Jean and Karen (Don) Powers; granddaughter, Sonja (Hans) Harlane; siblings, Charles Berchem and Margaret Schanz; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Clare was born on August 26, 1934 and raised with her eight siblings on the East side of St. Paul, was a parishioner of Sacred Heart and a graduate of Harding High School. She married Del almost 65 years ago and raised four children. She and Del loved to travel. Although her family was her main focus, she also cultivated many loving friendships with her neighbors and fellow parishioners at Nativity of Mary in Bloomington by participating in the Resurrection Choir (aka “the lunch bunch”), book club, her church circle and a birthday group. Clare was an avid reader, loved to talk about current events and was open to many different points of view— especially as she got older.
Even though her last two weeks (in the hospital) were physically demanding and difficult, her family was there, and we were able to have many heartfelt conversations and a few laughs. We understood how much she loved us and we were able to express how much we loved her. She will be missed very much.
Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 19 at 10:30 a.m., at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 9900 Lyndale Avenue, Bloomington. Visitation at 9:30 a.m. Memorials in lieu of flowers to Net Ministries (http://www.netusa.org/donate/) or donor’s favorite charity.
