"Oh, Nooooooooo!" Mr. Bill is gone . . . but not forgotten. He was, first, in a class I taught in Santa Clara; then he moved on to become a friend to several of us + my family members who were in CA at the time. He thought something major should happen to him every decade and he wanted to challenge himself, so, about a decade after a gall bladder operation, he moved to Minnesota. Major upheaval. Eventually he was there to do some heavy lifting (there was that 26-foot U-Haul truck that Bill, Monika, and I managed to drive through mountains and valleys and Black Hills Elk to get to Minnesota!!) when I left CA for Minnesota too. Bill drove the last part of the mountains with more speed than I would have dared. Since then, in MN, he's continued his security guard work; been dad to a couple of adopted doggies, a pal to my friends and family (who loved getting his little "treasures"), and a great support for all who knew him. He had trouble sleeping the last few years, so I say now, "Goodnight, Mr. Bill, and and flights of Doggies bark thee to thy rest!"
