Obituary for Gerald Edward Mack

Gerald Edward Mack, Jerry, a loving and caring husband, dad, grandpa, and brother passed away, surrounded by his family, on September 8, 2018 following a brave fight against cancer. Jerry, age 87, was born in Park Rapids, MN on October 6th, 1930 to Urban Sr. and Inez (Klicker) Mack. He served in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge in 1955, he was an Air Traffic Controller for 20 years in Indianapolis, IN and Farmington, MN. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening. His greatest enjoyment was being with family. He was very well loved and was known for his fun sense of humor, kindness, and love for people and the outdoors. He is preceded in death by his parents, Urban Sr. and Inez Mack; brothers, Junior, Bud, Jack, Dick and Larry Mack and step-son, Thomas Osking. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, JoAnn (Love) Mack; children, JoAnn (Bill) Blanchard, Patrick Mack and Leanda (Duane) Cheney; step-children, Tim (Nicky) Osking, Jody (Charles) Jackson and Jackie Osking (Gregg Mellberg); grandchildren, Joshua Cheney, Aubree (Kai) Martinez, Lucas Blanchard, Joel Blanchard, Mark Blanchard, Cameron Jackson, Connor Jackson and Nickolas Osking; great-granddaughter, Lila Martinez; sister, Patty Mack; nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 13th, at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 9947 Lyndale Avenue South, Bloomington with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Park Rapids, MN, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 14th.
