Rev. Kenneth Joseph Siess
Age 86 of Edina, Minnesota. Born October 2, 1931 in Seymour, Indiana to Clarence and Marie (Dau) Siess. Died August 24th, 2018. Director of Chaplaincy and Clinical Pastoral Education at University of Minnesota Hospitals and Clinic, 1976-1994, and Director of Chaplaincy with Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota, 1994-2002. Taught at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. Guided two leading national chaplaincy associations (ACPE and APC) in developing codes of ethics and building accountabilities into their professional standards of practice. Preceded in death by wife, Ellie. Survived by children, Timothy, Jonathan , Matthew, Daniel and Elizabeth; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Marian and Tom. Funeral service Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11 AM ~ Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 3045 Chicago Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55407. Visitation Friday 4-8 PM at Mt Olive Lutheran Church and one hour prior to service. Memorials to donor's choice or the Fairview Foundation's Clinical Pastoral education Fund.
