Obituary for William John Gimble

William John  Gimble
Gimble, William J. (Bill) age 83 of Plymouth. Born July 21, 1934 to William E. and Frances (Hollerbach) Gimble, passed away June 18, 2018 where he will walk forever with his Lord and Savior. Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, Marlys and son, Jonathan. Bill is survived by his loving children, Cathy Zablocki (Brian), Robyn Gimble and Rick Dayton; granddaughters, Ashley and Chelsea; great grandchildren, Audrianna and Derrick; sister, Frances Mary Wolfel; nephews and nieces and many dear friends. He was his families’ biggest fan – always there for all and will be dearly missed. Bill proudly served his Country from 1956-1958 with the U.S. Army. He was an active member of the NALC, dedicated volunteer at the YMCA, always enjoyed being active, especially playing handball and racquetball. He loved nature and everything that God blessed this world with. He shared how important it was to protect our environment - without which all of the money in the world is worthless. A Memorial Celebration of Bills' Life will be held Tuesday, July 3, with visitation beginning at 3:30 pm, service 5 pm at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, 3900 Winnetka Ave N, New Hope. Internment Thursday, July 5 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. All who crossed paths with this extraordinary, ordinary person are urged to come and share laughs or tears. Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society or Holy Nativity Lutheran Church. Thank you to his many caregivers from North Memorial and the U of M Medical Center, for their wonderful care.
