Mary Anna Bartz age 85, of Edina, MN passed away peacefully and entered the joy of heaven on May 4, 2018. Preceded in death by parents Richard and Gertrude Hemp, survived by husband of 62 years, Richard; children, Christina (M Chad) Mezera, R John (Lori), Steven (Susan), Paul (Cynthia), Thomas (Kari) and James; 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; sister Dorothy Wheeler, brother Richard (Joann) Hemp and brother-in-law Eugene Bartz; loving relatives and friends. She was born in Wausau, WI and graduated Valedictorian from Mosinee High School. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison, a Master’s degree from George Washington University and a Juris Doctor from Hamline Law School. After successfully raising her six children including triplet boys, at age 47 she was admitted to the MN Bar and opened her law practice of over 35 years. She inspired many people to pursue their aspirations. She was smart, kind, generous, and a positive influence to all. Memorial Service at 11am on Monday May 14 at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave So, Minneapolis, MN 55419 Visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred to Mount Olivet Lutheran Church.
