Rodney Allen  Larson
Rodney A. Larson, 76, died Sunday, May 6th at his home in Bloomington, MN under Hospice Care. Rodney was born December 13, 1941 in Veblen, SD to Ralph and Ruby Larson. Rodney attended school in Havana all twelve years graduating in 1959. Rodney served his country from October 1959 through October 1962. Rodney married Phyllis M. Ackley on November 19, 1977 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Valley City, ND. Ralph and Ruby were married on this date in 1940, their 37th anniversary. Rodney moved to Minneapolis, MN after his discharge and that is where he got his first construction job running the backhoe. He continued this line of work his entire career and was working for Metro Utilities until he retired January 1, 2006. He was a member of the Local 49, VFW, American Legion and Eagles. Rodney enjoyed gardening, boating and fixing things; nothing was thrown away without an attempt to fix it which was usually successful. Rodney is survived by his wife, Phyllis, and three sisters: Bonnie (Al) Poyzer, Cynthia (Glenn) Ramsey, Renea Larson; in laws, Carol and David Jacobsen, Dennis and Somjit Ackley and David Ackley and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sandra and Cheryl Tobkin. Visitation Sunday, May 13th 1-4 PM at Gill Brothers Funeral Home 9947 Lyndale Ave. So. Bloomington, MN. Memorial service beginning at 3 PM.
