Dr. Jill Marie Larsen, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2018 at her home in Minneapolis, MN. An alternative care expert, spiritual mentor and gifted healer, Jill was 51 years old.
Born December 2, 1966 in Cloquet, MN, Jill graduated from Lincoln High School in Esko, MN and received her bachelor’s degree from St. Cloud State University.

Her genuine appreciation for life and learning led to advanced degrees from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN and Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, OR, where she received her Doctorate in Oriental Medicine.

An expert in women’s health, pain management and integrative treatment strategies, Jill founded Ascent Acupuncture in South Minneapolis and served as its lead clinician until her retirement. Jill also served as a faculty member at Northwestern Health Services University, conducted clinical rotations on post-operative pain management at the University of Minnesota’s Fairview Hospital and worked with the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital on an integrative care model for pediatric patients. Jill touched the lives of many patients and holistic health care experts in the Minneapolis area and beyond.

Known for her kind, gentle spirit and love of adventure, Jill brought remarkable joy to those fortunate to have crossed her path. And what a beautiful path it was.

Preceded in death by her mother, Irene Gail Dulong and father, Jens Henry Larsen, Jill is survived by her fiancée, Elizabeth Hamel, sisters Debbie Soraparu, Sandy Rosvall Skoglund (Rick), Sharon Hjort and Diane Larsen Mullen (Dennis), three nephews, three nieces, two great nephews, one great niece and two more great-nieces on the way.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2pm at the University of Minnesota Campus Club located at 300 Washington Avenue Southeast, Coffman Memorial Union, 4th Floor, Minneapolis, MN.

Jill was an advocate for building awareness and funding for metastatic breast cancer research. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made online at makingagift.umn.edu in the name of Jill Larsen for Breast Cancer Research at the University of Minnesota.
