Josephine Marie Brashear (Marchese)
Age 86 of Minneapolis, MN. Born September 2, 1931 in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania and died February 12, 2018 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, spouse, sibling and friend. After earning her license from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing (Pittsburgh) and her degree in Nursing Education from the university of Pittsburgh, Jo served as an RN and Nurse Educator in Pennsylvania and California. She then pursued a 25-year career in medical quality assurance in the Twin Cities and in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In 1992 she co-founded a Minneapolis CD replicating and electronic publishing business with her husband, Joe. Jo was an avid reader with a passion for gardening. She and Joe were known for their beautiful gardens and their award-winning roses, red being her favorite. She will also be remembered as a spectacular cook, and frequently received requests for her meatball and homemade tomato sauce recipes. She was also devoted to the Church and loved to volunteer with her parish. Jo was preceded in death by husband, Joseph; parents, Guiseppe and Maria Marches; siblings, Vito, Anthony, Victoria and Mary. She is remembered and loved by children, Robert (Darlene), David, Paul (Sue), and Dona; grandchildren, Tiana, Colin, Jesse, Anthony, Benjamin and Jonathan; great grandchildren, Thomas, Ethan, Sophie and Kaden; siblings, Angeline, Nicholas, Geraldine and Michael; daughter-in-law, Deborah; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, February 16th at 11:00 am, Church of St. Bonaventure, 901 East 90th Street, Bloomington, MN. Visitation one hour prior to mass. Interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be directed to Catholic Eldercare, Mainstreet Lodge, 909 Main Street NE, Mpls, 55413
