Obituary for Richard Glenn Ginger

Richard Glenn Ginger
Ginger, Richard Glenn

82, of Phoenix, AZ passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018. He was born and lived in Spencer, IA until he proudly joined the Air Force to serve his country and for his love of planes. He started his family in Bloomington, MN and stayed for over 40 years. His last several years were spent in Little Falls before moving to Arizona. Richard was preceded by his wife of more than 40 years, Lorraine Marie (Hanson) Ginger; parents, Glenn & Luella Ginger; sister, Margaret (Voss). He is survived by his 2 children, Russell (Evelyn) Ginger and Carolyn Kay Ginger; grandchildren, Grayson Ginger and Leslie Ann “Chile Bean”; sister, Lois; nieces & nephews (Voss), Merle, Marleen, Marlin, Martha & Mary. Richard loved to play golf with his friends, later in life he cherished being with his family and watching his grandson grow up. One of his favorite past times was hanging out with his family which included the drag racing community and watching the races. When he moved to Arizona in 2015 he loved his daily walks in the warm Arizona sun and reading outdoors in the shade. Humor was a key for Richard and believed ‘the more the merrier’ in everything he did. He was an avid sports enthusiast rooting for the Vikings, Redsox and a diehard Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 7th 11 AM at Gill Brothers Funeral Chapel, 9947 Lyndale Ave S, Bloomington, MN. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery followed by a light lunch at Sports Page, 9014 S Lyndale Ave, Bloomington, MN.
