Condolence From: Karen Weitzel
Condolence: Dear Micky, Ginnie and Miss Williams' nieces and nephew and their families,

I hope one or all of you will have the opportunity to read this. I will, out of necessity, keep it fairly brief. Jackie Williams was my 7th grade teacher in the Netherlands (my USAF pilot Dad was stationed there for 3 years). My whole family and my fellow students adored her! My family was lucky that Miss Williams lived on the street directly behind our rental home in Zeist, the Netherlands. One of the many fond memories I have of that period in my life, was the time she taught us kids to play a group Solitaire card game (when she "babysat" me and my three brothers, all of us teenagers at the time), while Mom and Dad took a much needed but brief vacation to Paris. Sometime during those few days, she told us a story about a college paper she wrote for fun titled "How to Eat Crackers and Cheese in Bed Without Getting Crumbs in the Sheets" - I still remember that mischievous smile and her chuckles at sharing that tidbit! As a teacher, Miss Williams was lovingly strict, had a terrific sense of humor, and a quick and sharp wit! My family moved to East Grand Forks, MN (Dad was transferred to Grand Forks AFB,ND) in 1965. The last time I was blessed to have seen Miss Williams was a couple of years later when my family visited her at the Minneapolis Cedar Avenue South home, which she shared with Micky and Ginnie. At that time, my older two brothers were in town for the Minnesota State high school basketball tournament (as team members). Incidentally, if I recall correctly, I had met Micky while in Europe and perhaps in association with a Girl Scout camp I attended in Germany. I met Ginnie at the Mpls home. What a fun-loving trio those gals were! Although I lost contact with Miss Williams after that 1967(?) visit, I have often thought about her and her friends, and have thanked God for them ever having been in my life, no matter how long or short. May God bless you, friends and family, with your fond memories of the much beloved Jackie, and keep you all in his good and loving care.
