Obituary for Dennis Paul Walker

Walker, Dennis P. of Bloomington, died peacefully on 12/30/2017, on his 71st Birthday, surrounded by his loving family at home. He fought a heroic battle for 7 years with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a rare brain disease. He served & retired as Deputy Fire Chief in Bloomington, and spent many years on the Department, which he greatly loved. He also retired from the airline industry, which then allowed him more time to fly his own plane, which was his favorite hobby. However, his most cherished time was spent with his family and going up to Walker, MN. Preceded in death by son, Jonathan Walker and parents Wesley & Edith Walker. Survived by wife, Colleen (Kitty) of 51 years; children, Big Ronnie (Amy) Walker, Laura (Peter) Finkel, Breanna (Dan) Walker-Zahn, Dallas (Martine) Walker, and his 10 most favorite grandchildren: Ben, Bailey, Jack, Sammy, Izzie, Joseph, Max, Alexandra, Lainey & Landon, along with many other family members and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, January 11th, 2018 at 11am, with visitation 1 hour prior at Gill Brothers Funeral Chapel 9947 Lyndale Ave S, Bloomington, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family preferred.
