Robert Bernard Dalton age 94 of Edina, Minnesota. Preceded in death by wife, Shirley. Survived by children, Tim (Carol), Martha (Gary) Bunkers, Mary Ruth (David) Holland, Rob (Debbie), Sam (Julie), and Katie (John) Rickert; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Dennis (Mary Clare) Wareham; sister-in-law, Irene Wareham; cousin, Gene (Audrey) Benson; ,many nieces, nephews, and friends. Bob graduted from Granite Falls High School and the University of Minnesota. Longtime teacher with the Minneapolis Public Schools, retired Lt. Col USAF, fighter pilot, lifelong athlete, avid golfer, and member of the Minnesota Air National Guard. He married his beloved wife Shirley on June 16, 1948 (68 years). His children would describe him as sweet, kind, funny, humble, warm, joyful, affectionate and faithful. In talking with him, you would feel as if you were the only person in the room. He loved his family ... and they loved him. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 15th at 11 AM ~ Church of Christ the King, 5029 Zenith Avenue South. Private interment ~ Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, 5-7 PM at Gill Brothers Southwest Chapel, 5801 Lyndale Avenue South and one hour prior to mass at church. If so desired, memorials may be directed to the Church of Christ the King. Thank you to the staff of York Gardens for all their loving care.
