In the early morning of November 3, 2017, Warren Larue Williams fulfilled his prescribed duties to the life of this world and began the next journey of his existence with his Creator. He’d celebrated his 69th birthday just three days prior.

Born in Chicago, IL of Armagee Lewis and Marcella Williams, Warren was blessed with a gift of intelligence that made him stand out on the city’s south side, joined with the constitution and disposition suitable to survive the harsher realities of his environment.

A proud member of the United States Marine Corp, he served his country as a Mortar Man in Vietnam, where he earned multiple medals for bravery and was honorably discharged in 1969. Warren was a talented and, at times, prolific writer with an amazing gift to paint and create vivid imagery with his words. He utilized these skills to navigate through the struggles of his post-war life—which he lived as a disabled veteran.

Warren was immensely proud of his service in the military, yet that was dwarfed by the pride and love for his children: Haisan 2X (Tammy), David (LaQuanda), Tyra (Don), Makeda “Chasity” (Rico), Rahkeem 3X. Step-children: Moriono, Bianca. Grandchildren: Hadid, David Jr., Daniel, DeMarcus, DeLashay, Demonta, Dakea, Davion, Dantarius, Kalim, Machyliah, Rico Jr., Aaron, Ra’Marion, Cartier, Moriyah, Moriono Jr., Tariq, Tyrell, Demoni. Great-grandchildren: Davierre, Jakaree, Naveah. Sisters: MaryAnn, Lorraine, Louise, and Brother Gregory. Warren had several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, as well as former spouses--and mothers of children--Pauletta and Florence; his fiancé Sandra joins in love with all of the above mentioned who survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Armagee and Marcella, as well as: Brothers Sylvester and Maurice; Sister Joan.

There will be a Homegoing Celebration for Warren on Thursday, November 9th from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 7300 42nd Avenue North, New Hope, MN. Interment will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
