Born Oct. 29, 1961; graduated to heaven Oct. 27, 2017. Age 55. Suddenly. Steve blazed a trail into everyone's heart with his wit, laughter and pursuit of fun. He was always so thoughtful, kind, generous beyond belief, and truly cared to really know you and your worries. He'd give you the shirt off his back. His warm spirit pulled you close. He never forgot a name, made people feel important and could commiserate on what they were experiencing. Steve learned what it was to lose family at a young age. He was so sensitive to others feelings and suffering. He could relate. He felt their pain. He persevered, held his head high and pushed through the heartache. It made him who he was. He was your �go to guy� when you needed advice on remodeling or fix its. You asked, he helped. His passion in life was cars. He could identify a car from behind at the age of 4. He was always right: Make, year, model. Amazing. He was passionate about classic cars and was always part of the state fair shows. His fall parties were renowned. Steve's mind was always firing. New ways to do things, very methodical, but solutions based. He was artfully creative as well as verbally. He could see art and beauty in things others couldn't. He was a graduate of Washburn High School and attended the U of M. He was loved deeply by his family. He loved his 4 brothers and sister, nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins and would call or write often. Predeceased by parents Earl and Margaret LaBahn, brothers Edward and Gary. Survived by Robert LaBahn and friend Michele Foster, niece and nephew Bridget and Jake Meyers (Harrison); John and Lynn LaBahn; Mary and Steve Korngable, niece and nephew Margie and Dan Warnemunde (Cole & Ava), niece and nephew Jeannie and Tom Bril (Rylee & Brooklyn) all residing in Twin Cities; nephew Jeffery LaBahn (Jayden& Julia); nephew and niece Jonathan and Marcie LaBahn (Lucy). Steve was such a treasure. He was so close to aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors. Everyone is heart-broken. So sudden. Too young.His mantra was: �We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time.� He was an original. A true genuine soul. He will be missed immensely. A celebration of Steve's life will be held Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 5426 12th Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55417 (612-824-3455).
