Obituary for Gerald Raymond Brazil

Gerald Raymond Brazil
Gerald "Chuck" Brazil
Age 82 of Bloomington, MN passed away peacefully on October 16, 2017. Preceded in death by a son Jimmy Brazil, parents Harold & Marie. Will be dearly missed by wife, Fran; children, Debbie (Ken) Bretz, Mike (Cindy) & Pat (Lisa); grandchildren, Catie (Candon) Honebrink, Kelsey Evans & Dylan Brazil; brothers, Ken (Joyce) & Tom (Joyce); sister, Colleen (Roger) Pumper and many nieces and nephews. Retired from St. Paul Insurance Company. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 20, at 11 AM at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 901 E. 90th St, Bloomington, MN 55420. Visitation one hour prior to mass at 10 AM. Memorials to St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.

Gerald was born on February 25, 1935 on a farm in Shieldsville, MN. He received a nickname of “Chuck” when he was a little lad and the name stuck. He has 2 brothers Ken & Tom and one sister Colleen.
He attended a one room country grace school about 2 blocks from where he lived. I think he was the teacher’s pet because she boarded at his parents’ home. He graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School in Faribault. After graduation he went to business college in Minneapolis.

After college he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army mostly in Germany. When his Army service was completed, he was employed at the St. Paul Insurance Companies and several other agencies.

On September 9, 1961 he married Frances Lenneman at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. Their marriage was blest with 4 children, Debbie, Mike, Pat and Jimmy (deceased 1970).

Chuck enjoyed dancing, playing cards, fishing, family get-togethers, trips to the North Shore, breakfast with his high school classmates and sports. He coached youth baseball and hockey.

His family and his faith were most important to him. He had perpetual adoration every week since its inception in 2000, which was dear to his heart. He also had a special devotion to St. Bridget one of Irelands patron saints.
