Condolence: Just heard about the passing of Dr. Oakes and I share the heartbreak of so many. He was one of the kindest, most compassionate humans I have met. I have had four pets of various temperaments receive his care, and no matter how freaked out or nervous they were, his calm presence relaxed them (and me). Sending thoughts, prayers and love to the Oakes Family and the Diamond Lake family. May the knowledge that Dr. Oakes was so beloved by so many give you peace. I know you will continue his legacy for years to come. ThANK YOU Dr. Oakes for everything.

Condolence: Just heard about Dan this morning when I brought in Bella, our 9 year old golden. We have been seeing Dan since 1994, with our first golden- Paddington. Within two years, she had developed severe seizures. Dan was able to get us connected with the U, where she was put on the proper meds. Dan saved her, and she lived a full life. Jennifer and I are so sorry for your loss. Dan was loved by many, and we couldn't have asked for a better vet. Peace be with you.

Condolence: Dr. Oakes cared for my parent's dog, my kitty when I first moved to Minneapolis, my husband's dog before we got married and now for our cat and dog as a family. He was very kind and caring man and an excellent vet. Our 4 legged kids, Paige and Nala, don't especially like to go to the vet, but Dr. Oakes always was able to put them at ease. Our sincerest condolences on your loss.

Condolence: Dr. Oakes touched the hearts of all of our family pets with his kind fingers. He took care of my entire family in the same gentle manner. He was a pillar of our community here in SW Minneapolis. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Oakes family. Please know your Dad did the work of a thousand men in his very short lifetime. He left the world a better place. He lived in grace. He will be very missed by so many. Sincerely, Jennifer (Weiler) Jorgenson
